The Refuge

PR&A designed new roadway alignments and sections as well as  stormwater management and erosion control for the Refuge.  This project included design of on-site drainage retention areas, control structures, and site work. For the new administration building, both water and sewer services were designed.   All stormwater facilities were designed and included dry retention systems with water quality treatment.

Muclan Farms Bridge

PR&A has provided Engineering and Surveying services for The Refuge on several projects over the last five years including a new bridge over the Ocklawaha River. This project included removal of an older Bailey bridge by the SJRWMD and construction of a new 180 foot single span steel structure bridge. We also hired industrial painting services to apply a 2 hour intumescent paint for steel that provides a more resistant layer of protection from rust, corrosion, extreme weather, fire, and other damaging elements.

PR&A performed all civil engineering, surveying, design & permitting services for this project including coordination and permitting with SJRWMD, FDEP, ACOE, US Coast Guard, and Marion County. Provided construction administration services, site inspections, Regulatory Agency coordination, including site surveys and As-builts.

Alachua County CR 172 Milling and Resurfacing

The 3.5 mile urban roadway project included the development of a Supplemental Traffic Control Plans through the CR 172 work zone phases. The Roadway Constructions Plans included some realignment of the existing roadway, addition of turn lanes, and the reconfiguration of roadway medians as well as pedestrian and bicycle facilities. The existing roadway was a semi-urban section with multiple side streets and school crossings. Residential access was maintained at all times. The project was completed in a very tight timeframe to meet the schedule of completion of the construction before the beginning of the school year.
